On Monday I mentioned having a few books on the go right now. Here's a little glimpse into what I'm burying my nose into these days:
Great with Child // Beth Ann Fennelly
It seems that every mommy with a blog has read and recommends this book, but for whatever reason, I never picked it up first time round with Mason. I adore our boy, but still find myself feeling challenged daily - as I'm sure most mama's do. I take a lot of comfort in reading about the journeys of other women as they work through the transition to becoming a mother, and the struggles/celebrations that constantly accompany that role. Fingers crossed this one lives up to the hype!
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding // la Leche League International
It's no secret that our breastfeeding experience was a little our out of the ordinary, and not exactly a success by conventional standards. I gleened a peek at this one sitting on a friend's coffee table, and decided it was a worthy read in preparation for the second try, whenever that may be. I'm not that far into it yet, but so far the history of beastfeeding vs. formula is super interesting.
60 Day Grain-Free Workbook // Kristen Hedges
I participated [half-heartedly] in Kristen's 60 Day Grain-Free challenge in the months leading up to Mason's birth. There is a ton of information packed into this little book, and I always find something new, no matter how many times I read through it.
GreenMama // Manda Aufochs Gillespie
This one has tons of interesting facts, information and research in it. I am finding the tone a little..preachy, vs. informational, but haven't found that it takes away from the message at all! This one talks about greening your life and your home before and during pregnancy, as well as after delivery. Definitely most relevant to expectant or very new mums.
What are you reading right now? Fiction, non-fiction, blogs, magazines? I Iove them all!
